Qurrahأَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ ١
ara-ayta alladhī yukadhibu bil-dīn
Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?
سورة الماعون
Surah Al-Ma'un · The Small kindnesses

Memorize Surah Al-Ma'un with your childبِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ ٢
fadhālika alladhī yaduʿʿu l-yatīm
For that is the one who drives away the orphan
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ ٣
walā yaḥuḍḍu ʿalā ṭaʿāmi l-mis'kīn
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ ٤
fawaylun lil'muṣallīn
So woe to those who pray
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ ٥
alladhīna hum ʿan ṣalātihim sāhūn
[But] who are heedless of their prayer -
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ ٦
alladhīna hum yurāūn
Those who make show [of their deeds]
وَيَمْنَعُونَ ٱلْمَاعُونَ ٧
wayamnaʿūna l-māʿūn
And withhold [simple] assistance.
Memorize it with your child in Qurrah
In Qurrah, your child memorizes the surah step by step:
- They listen to the ayah from the teaching sheikh.
- They repeat it with him two or three times.
- They recite it from memory and record their voice for a parent to hear.
- It comes back in review until it sticks.
